Whole Story Package: Newborn & Family (part 3 of 3)

Gosh, I can’t believe it’s finally time to share this last one for the Reed Family. Time flies!

The Newborn & Family session: Photographing this family at their home was just a special as the maternity and birth session. As with all Whole Story clients, we feel more like friends and family at this point. Seeing this new family again, and getting to love on baby Cooper was the best. He is SO dang precious, am I right?!

That’s the beauty of the Whole Story Package…you get to see parts of the different chapters. I’ve said it once and I will say it again (okay maybe a few times)…I LOVE the Whole Story Package. There’s something so special and so sacred about being a part of a new family’s journey into parenthood. Capturing milestones of each family is something I truly treasure. I believe these are memories they’ll forever reflect on and never regret having photographed.

Whole Story Package: Birth (part 2 of 3)

This is the Birth Story for the Reed Family, some of the awesome Whole Story Clients that I was blessed to work with in 2018.

Fair warning, these birth photos just might make you cry. I cried photographing the birth, editing the gallery, delivering them, and now as I add them to the blog and go through them again, I’m crying! All of the emotions.

The birth: From the minute I arrived to the minute I left the birth, Brandon & Katie were a united front. Katie labored like a champion. I was in awe of her perseverance through each contraction. She’s a boss. Papa Brandon was praying and encouraging his wife every minute. Brandon brought journals filled with letters and verses about his and Katie’s story together. He read them during some of the earlier contractions.
Since their fur-baby couldn’t be with them, he surprised Katie with a look-a-like of Ruby in the hospital room (hence the plush pup you see in a few photos). After baby arrived, Katie gifted her hubby with a watch- the same brand that she gifted him with on their wedding day. I can’t even…basically we were all sobbing messes at this point.

With the extra love and support of their amazing Doula, Ashley, this family invited their first son earth-side. I think the photos will tell you just how excited they were, and how emotional and joyful welcoming Baby Cooper into the world was.

Whole Story Package: Maternity Session (part 1 of 3)

Real talk: The very first email I ever received from Brandon contained 10+ emojis. He and his wife were expecting their first baby and I can honestly say until that day, I had never received an email so enthusiastic and so full of joy. The skeptic in me thought it must just be an email thing. Sure enough, the second I met them in person, it was like FIRE. Brandon and Katie were genuine, honest, fun-loving, and over-the-moon excited about the whole process.

What made me even more excited was that they wanted to do the Whole Story Package. My FAV! This means I would get to see their family grow.

Because I have such a hard time deciding what to share from each of their three sessions, I am creating separate blog posts for maternity, birth, and newborn. #photographerproblems #overshare

The maternity session: We basically just had a ton of fun like big kids! Katie won me over when she requested blue ice cream. The lovebirds got all cute and cozy in a Ferris wheel. They schooled each other in arcade games…even got IN a game itself (whhhhaaaatttt). Then finished off the night with blue cotton candy. Have you caught on that they were expecting a boy yet? ; )

Needless to say, this maternity session was one for the books.
