Celebration Birth Photography: Mama Sarah

This Celebration Hospital Birth was so precious. This mama was so incredibly strong and she worked so hard {and SO FAST!} to meet her sweet son. Her labor was super short and I was only there for about 15 minutes before her son was born, on her hands and knees in her hospital bed. It was absolutely perfect. Her daughters were in the waiting room with grandparents and shortly after her son was born, they got to meet their new baby. They are certainly adoring big sisters and totally melted my heart. Lakeland Lifestyle Photography: The Platings, Pt. 1

One of my personal goals this year was to work on my family lifestyle photography skills. Lifestyle photography, to me, is all about capturing who you are right now in this season of life. I know this lovely family and I know that home is a sanctuary for them. This mama puts a lot of heart into her home and it's such a lovely and peaceful place that's inviting and comfortable. Her girls are loved on and have space to play and learn, they value health and home, and they're getting ready to welcome another baby girl. They were some of the first people I thought of when I thought about honing my lifestyle photography skills. This mama is an awesome creative, too, and is on staff  amongst some other incredible Lakeland local creatives with our ever amazing local magazine, The Lakelander, as their Shelter Editor. Theirs was my first planned lifestyle session, and we started out painting, followed by making pancakes {for lunch!} and moved into playtime with the girls and wrapped up with storytime on their big comfy couch. I'm pretty sure it's the most fun and relaxed shoot I've ever had and it completely solidified the fact that I'm in love with lifestyle photography. I can't wait for my next lifestyle session!

We ended up with so much from their session that I'm splitting it up into two posts, so here goes part 1 which will be art time & storytime with the girls. Part 2 will be pancakes and playtime with the girls.

Lakeland Lifestyle Photography: The Platings

Newborn: Baby Jahnoah

This sweet baby is Jahnoah. You might recognize her lovely mama from the Hippie Drum Circle shoot I did with Wrap Your Baby in Tampa, or from the maternity session {where I was saying I cannot wait for her newborn photography shoot!} I adore her little family so much, and this sweet baby girl gave me so many smiles. Isn't she a doll?! If you've looked at the maternity photos we did, you'll see that when I met this mama, I was so excited about her beautiful long dreads and perfect baby bump. I wanted to photograph her so badly and am so glad she hired me. I love dreads. I used to have dreads and it was so cool to get to photograph a beautiful mama with dreads. What a blast. Also, that big sister might just be the quirkiest sweet little girl I know {besides my own, of course}.
