One of my personal goals this year was to work on my family lifestyle photography skills. Lifestyle photography, to me, is all about capturing who you are right now in this season of life. I know this lovely family and I know that home is a sanctuary for them. This mama puts a lot of heart into her home and it's such a lovely and peaceful place that's inviting and comfortable. Her girls are loved on and have space to play and learn, they value health and home, and they're getting ready to welcome another baby girl. They were some of the first people I thought of when I thought about honing my lifestyle photography skills. This mama is an awesome creative, too, and is on staff amongst some other incredible Lakeland local creatives with our ever amazing local magazine, The Lakelander, as their Shelter Editor.
Theirs was my first planned lifestyle session, and we started out painting, followed by making pancakes {for lunch!} and moved into playtime with the girls and wrapped up with storytime on their big comfy couch. I'm pretty sure it's the most fun and relaxed shoot I've ever had and it completely solidified the fact that I'm in love with lifestyle photography. I can't wait for my next lifestyle session!
We ended up with so much from their session that I'm splitting it up into two posts, so here goes part 1 which will be art time & storytime with the girls. Part 2 will be pancakes and playtime with the girls.
