You guys…it’s HOT outside. The ones brave enough to beat the heat are few and far between…but this family rocked it. Despite the grueling sun, we still had a blast. I’ll always love shooting at a location like Bok Tower; there are SO many options and we can always find sweet pockets of shade to work with.

Bok Tower Gardens: Mother & Son Session

This sweet Mama reached out to me about wanting to do a special session with her son. While describing her vision, she used the term “rebirth”. I got goosebumps! Getting to know her more, I could tell this was a woman who has walked through fire and come out on the other side.

It was a beautiful morning and capturing these two together did my heart good. I reflected on my own relationship with my son who’s just a few years older than this sweet boy. I can’t wait to see their bond blossom this next season.

Bok Tower Gardens Anniversary Session: One Year Down, Many More to Go!

Just days before this session, I was talking with my husband about how I’ve been wanting a red dress. Not for any particular occasion, but because they’re so bold and beautiful. Many a time I have one on in a store but left empty handed. I felt too bold every time and walked away saying, “One day I’m just going to do it”.

Fast forward to arriving on location for this session. As soon as they stepped out of their car, my heart beamed. Tonie Jo was in this beautiful red dress! And she rocked it!

These two lovebirds celebrated one year of marriage. That’s one year of changes and growing and stretching and love. Their love is effortless and timeless. Their story made me happy. We connected on many levels in the short time we spent together.

I wish many, many more years of life-giving marriage to this couple. Now I’m going to go buy myself a red dress.
