First Birthday & Family Photos

I’ve had the honor of photographing this couple’s son turning one, their maternity session when they were expecting this sweet baby girl, her newborn photos, and now I got to photograph her FIRST BIRTHDAY photos! I can’t believe how fast that year went!
So we celebrated not only family time, and first-birthday photos, but since Ariel and Jordan recently got engaged, I made sure to get some of just the two of them!

P.S.- Because few get to see behind the scenes…when we went to take Malia’s birthday photos, her mama brought a few balloons to tie onto a chair. Well, apparently I didn’t secure them well enough because I stepped back to pick up my camera and two of the balloons took off into the air! I felt SO bad! Mama says,” Well…we only need one!”. I sighed with relief (and joined in the laughter). Note to self: Have somebody else tie the balloons next time.

Family Session: Bok Tower Gardens

This family wasn’t afraid of a little rain! Okay…a lot of rain.

Picture this: We arrive at our location and see just how quickly the storm clouds are coming. Within minutes (maybe 3 tops), it starts POURING. Without even a few warning-sprinkles, there was a downpour! We took cover in our vehicles and waited it out.

I loved that this sweet family didn’t mind getting a little,well, soaked. Even after the harsh rain, we continued the session in the steady drizzle, and loved every second of it.
I love when families don’t let the weather rain on their parade! ;)

Holiday Family Mini Session

The second this family asked if they could bring along their corgi, I knew it was fate.
Buddy, the corgi, showed up in this adorable bow! Perfect for family Christmas photos!

After the session, we ended up talking in the parking lot for a while. We realized that my husband and I got married in the month of January, just like they did. Both of our wedding days ended up having ideal sweater weather. Needless to say it was perfect that this morning of the session together, Florida decided to show off and bring about some BEAUTIFUL sweater weather for us to enjoy.
