Adoption
This is sweet newborn Eli. His mama & daddy adopted him at just a couple of days old after excitedly awaiting his arrival! He is just beyond precious and adorable. His mama is nursing him which for those of you who know me {or who are getting to know me through this blog} might know that I'm a big advocate for nursing, so I was all too thrilled to hear that this first time mom worked to pump in preparation for her sweet adopted son.Take a peak at this gorgeous family:
This will, I am sure, go down in my memory as one of the most wonderful things I have had the honour of capturing. In many ways it was just like a birth - the birth of this new family. This Mama & Daddy had two kids already, a 4 year old boy and 3 year old girl, and they went to Uganda to adopt two 1 year old boys. I had the privilege of capturing their welcome home at the airport which included the first time that these siblings met each other, these Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles met their new boys. I have to admit, I fought back tears for a moment. It was certainly one of the most beautiful moments I have ever witnessed. Check it out:
